Sam Chernak

With over twenty years at Comcast, Sam Chernak has had a wide range of responsibilities, including Complex-deal lead, such as the proposed Time Warner merger, the DNC Convention, and numerous venue/entertainment partnerships, including the Atlanta Braves and other sports and entertainment programs. Chernak headed the national capacity team, which manages the capital plan and capacity programs across Comcast national networks. Chernak was the original tech executive over the VoIP program which evolved into our Digital Voice Business, and the Engineering/Operations head for the initial Comcast Business Services division as well as for Comcast Cellular (sold to SBC in 1999). He headed the development team for Xfinity Home Security, led the Access Technology team, and developed DOCSIS 3.0/3.1 protocols and supporting network architectures, and holds multiple patents.

Prior to Comcast, Sam worked in the telecom space, heading up products and technology at Impact Telecom (acquired by WorldCom), and Unitel Communications (the first long-distance competitor in Canada), and started his career at Bell Labs building private networks for AT&T clients.

Sam has a BSEE from Lehigh University and Masters in Applied Math from Rutgers University. He is a member of Eta Kappa Nu (Electrical Engineering Honor Society) and Tau Beta Pi (Engineering Honor Society.)
