Earlier this week, at the MEF ’17 conference in Orlando, the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF), the global standards body responsible for defining the future of Ethernet, recognized Comcast Business and two of its customers with awards for the outstanding partnerships which have demonstrated cutting edge use of advanced Ethernet solutions.

Comcast Business and MEF have collaborated for many years and Comcast executives have contributed to MEF by serving as Board members. We are proud of the strong and productive relationship shared with this great organization.

Comcast is immensely grateful to have our enterprise customers recognized by MEF, in front of so many industry experts, for the benefits they have gained by partnering with Comcast Business.

The first was an Enterprise Application Award in the Sports category. The network supporting the new home for the Atlanta Braves, SunTrust Park, and adjacent The Battery Atlanta, which both opened this year, is one of the largest sports venues and mixed-use development installations in the country with exceptional capacity driven by the two 100 Gbps Ethernet lines powering 320 Wi-Fi access points placed throughout the mixed-use Battery Atlanta complex, in addition to 800 located within SunTrust Park.

The second was an Enterprise Application Award in the Health category. This was for our Ethernet Network Services (ENS) connecting 65 Cascadia Behavioral Health locations across five counties in Oregon with speeds up to 100 Megabits-per-second (Mbps). The Comcast Ethernet solution is fiber-based, connects the 65 locations on a reliable, scalable and high-performance network.

We have been experiencing incredible demand for Ethernet solutions from organizations of all sizes and industries. Our Business Internet portfolio delivers breakthrough levels of performance, scalable and custom tailored to suit the customer’s business needs.

We would like to thank the Metro Ethernet Forum for this recognition, the Atlanta Braves and Cascadia Behavioral Health for working with us on these significant projects, which demonstrate the impact Ethernet can have on a business’ performance. We are also grateful to our technicians in the field, support staff and engineers who have worked tirelessly to expand our fiber network to all reaches of the country and deliver the highest performing technology to the businesses in that area.

We are looking forward to another great year ahead!
